JJ Paolino is a May 2009 graduate of the University of Tampa earning a degree in Electronic Media Arts & Technology (EMAT). Aside from Web site design, JJ is an accomplished singer/songwriter. Starting his career in the basement of his home at age 15, his sound is reminiscent of established voices such as that of John Mayer, Dave Mathews and Jason Mraz, but his vision is more cutting edge, admittedly finding influence in a new generation of performers such as Matt Wertz, Stephen Kellogg and Rob Blackledge.
As a songwriter, JJ crafts melodies over simple yet precise acoustic guitar textures, and his lyrics have an immediate appeal, resting comfortably within his well-conceived arrangements. The result is a sound that catches your ear and simply will not let go. JJ is already making his mark on local scenes, establishing himself as a favorite at clubs in both Florida and his home state of Rhode Island. A first place finish at the University of Tampa’s “ Battle of the Bands” as well as the “People’s Choice Award” is a testament to his appeal. Check out JJ’s home page when you get a chance…
